  1. to delete a word or words from a document

  2. to order something written to be deleted, so that it no longer forms part of the case
    Examples to strike out a pleading or a statement of case • A party can apply for a statement of case to be struck out if it is not verified. • A court may strike out a statement of case if it appears that the statement shows no grounds for bringing the claim.
